Session 3 following discourse analysis exegetes the Discourse Introduction (DI) found in Hebrews 1:1-4. As in most sermons, the DI introduces the speakers subject and predicate that God speaks. He outlines two topics that he covers in his exposition to follow. Further, the speaker for his message to follow provides a probable Greek chiastic outline for a polemic that forms his initial claims before moving to his conclusion about the purpose for the ministry of Christ. List of Hebrews Dynamic Unit Summary/Conclusions & Narrative Analysis of Author Message Coherence
For each discourse unit in his message, the Pastor provides a conclusion summary. In persuasive rhetoric, a Greek audience would mentally assemble the claims of his propositions up to this point. A listener would either agree, remain undecided, or disagree. As a good persuasive speaker, the Pastor's conclusions should have cohesion and correspondence with his main point conclusion in Unit F regarding Hebrews 9:27-28. In this section, you can hover over the texts you have heard so far, and come to you own dynamic conclusions about what you hear so far in the sermon. Do you agree, remain undecided, or disagree with his main subtopic claim that God spoke that the Son brings all things by the conversation concerning his ability summarized in Hebrews 9:27-28?
